Effect of Live Yeasts (Pichia guilliermondii) on In Vitro Fermentation of Corn Stover as a Fibrous Substrate

The objective of the present study was to examine potential utilization yeast strain Pichia guilliermondii (Levica 27) on ruminal fermentation corn stover. Two in vitro treatments were evaluated: (A) filtered rumen liquid + powdered stover yeast-free culture medium and (B) inoculated with yeast. Samples collected at 0, 6, 12, 24 h examined for effects pH, ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N), fiber digestibility percentages neutral detergent acid fiber, dry matter, concentration volatile fatty acids (VFAs). results showed that addition Levica 27 had no effect NH3-N or indicators (p > 0.05). However, 12 h, inclusion increased < 0.05) molar concentrations total VFAs acetic propionic fluid decreased C2:C3 ratio.
